Editors

Thoughtsmith is brought to you by a team of five editors.

Benjamin Harris, Founding Editor, is a writer, reader, student, and tutor from Saratoga Springs, NY. He has studied in fields ranging from Software Engineering to English. He has worked on the staff of the college literary magazine Expressions, has worked as a tai chi teaching assistant, and as an English tutor at Adirondack Community College. An active practitioner of karate and tai chi, Ben believes in achieving balance in all aspects of one’s life. Ben’s main goal is not to become a professional editor, is not to make any profit from Thoughtsmith, and is not to promote himself or his writing in any way. His only hope is that through Thoughtsmith, he may be able to promote writers, both new and experienced, and bring their work to a greater audience.

Seth A. Smith is a poet and writer living in Upstate New York. He has recently graduated summa cum laude from Adirondack Community College, where he worked in ACC’s Center for Reading and Writing and was an editor of Expressions, the college’s literary magazine, also receiving awards for academic excellence, both in English peer tutoring and British literature. He will be attending the University of Albany as an English major in the Fall. Seth is a lover and devourer of literature, and hopes that, through Thoughtsmith, he will be able to help the works of excellent writers reach a wider audience.

Mark O’Neil’s stories and essays have appeared in The Cortland Review, 5_Trope, 3rdBed, Elimae, Tarpaulin Sky, Eyeshot, Pindeldyboz, Locus Novus, Barrelhouse Online, ( Ducky Magazine, Reinventing the World, Parenthetical Note and The Journal of Modern Post which are no longer online) and in Exquisite Corpse under the pseudonym ‘BardoZek’.  His story “Carl” appears in Thoughtsmith 1.1.

Erienne Rojas graduated from the City College of New York with a BA in English, concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Jewish Studies. She received the Bear River Writers’ Conference Scholarship in 2006 and was a featured poet at the annual CCNY Spring Poetry Festival. In the following year, she also served as a Poetry judge and recently was part of the Polestar Poetry Series. She has worked in book publishing for almost three years where she’s had the opportunity to oversee publicity for all types of books and strengthen media and author connections. She is also a freelance publicist for Sherri Rosen Publicity. Her poetry has appeared in print sources such as Poetry in Performance and several online premises like LiterateNubian.org and The Write Place at the Write Time. She is a published writer/book reviewer at Ibero-American Magazine, Spanglish Magazine and Me Magazine where she is also the Assistant Editor. She has been applying to graduate school for her MFA and is working on a poetry manuscript.

Joseph Leakakos is an editor for Thoughtsmith’s first issue.  Regrettably, due to time constraints, he will only be with us for the first issue.
